Usually when people think about the availability of water, they never consider just how precious this natural resource is until there is a major shortage. With a commitment to environmental stewardship, Honda of America in 2005 constructed a 7-acre, 2-pond system, capable of capturing 22 million gallons of rain water for reuse in the cooling towers at the Marysville Auto Plant. These towers are responsible for helping to keep the plant cool in the summer. The ponds reduce the plant's groundwater usage by about 40 million gallons per year.
