Honda manages more than 8,000 acres of land in Union and Logan counties. This includes more than 500 acres of wetlands, 1,400 acres of forest lands and 3,000 acres of farmland. One of the main goals is to manage this land resource in an environmentally sound manner. Honda has constructed five wetland areas to slow runoff from parking lots and floodwaters from its property, while absorbing excess nutrients, sediments and other materials. This absorption prevents sediment from entering streams, lakes and rivers such as the Big Darby watershed. These wetlands also provide a rich habitat for many aquatic plants and animals.
